1974 Corvette 454 test drive and inspection. Does it get any better than a black Corvette with a 454, sidepipes, and a 4 speed? This editor doesn't think so. Judge for yourself. We JUST sold this car about a week ago. Had this one for a while.

It’s hard to say since it’s a non-original engine — we’d really have to dyno it to get anywhere close to an accurate figure. Nonetheless, I’d guess somewhere around 350hp and 400 lb ft of torque if it were tuned.

FANADICALCOWHEAD February 14, 2010 at 7:35 PM

About how Hp and lbs ft of torque do you think this car has?

EXTREME4YEARSTOCOME February 14, 2010 at 8:21 PM

has this corvette been purchased?

FANADICALCOWHEAD February 14, 2010 at 8:23 PM

Yes it does have 5mph bumpers and those are the original bumpers

Sounds like a pretty nice car you’ve got there…not too many War Bonnet Yellow cars around that haven’t been painted Red or Black. 4 speed? Let us know if you ever want to unload it!

I have a 1972 Warbonnet Yellow Corvette that has hte original paint still on it, with the original interior, original engine, original everything. The car is in close to mint condition, with a few blemishes on the drivers side door panel, and a few marks on the paint, but this is to be expected with 37 year old paint. Its got a 454 BigBlock, with rear exhaust. It has Power WIndows, but no A/C and is a T-Top. I will post a video soon. P.S Everything works on the car, and I mean EVERYTHING.

Sweet

sk8forlife90 February 14, 2010 at 10:31 PM

he said unfortunatly its not an original engine lol. thats actually a good thing because thats an aftermarket engine with aftermarket parts, so really its MUCH MUCH better than ANY original 454.

sk8forlife90 February 14, 2010 at 10:35 PM

if i had the money, i would buy it! and that IS a 4 speed

microminiskirt February 14, 2010 at 10:50 PM

You mean the split in the rear bumper?

buyavettedotnet February 14, 2010 at 10:54 PM

Wipers and headlights would be working at the time of sale — same with brakes. We do not let cars go out of here with safety issues. Bumpers do not appear to have been modified from the factory.

buyavettedotnet February 14, 2010 at 11:11 PM

We are currently asking $17,900 for the car.

microminiskirt February 14, 2010 at 11:53 PM

Actually there is no need for a heater as you will get lots of heat from the motor.

microminiskirt February 15, 2010 at 12:12 AM

No windshield wipers or headlights? Those are safety items that need to be fixed. does it have stainless steel calipers and new brake master cyclinder? Parking brake work? The clock doesn’t and it never does.
Does it have 5 mph bumpers as the factory original ones did?

microminiskirt February 15, 2010 at 1:08 AM

all of those blemishes and it not a factory stock Corvette for $25,000 maybe more like 15,000 or less.

microminiskirt February 15, 2010 at 1:09 AM

Warranty? What kind of work does it really need?

pirdy31 February 15, 2010 at 1:16 AM

Yep, yep. He’s commenting about the clock not working?? Ask the seller about the alarm! hehe

buyavettedotnet February 15, 2010 at 2:01 AM

We came to the same conclusion — price has been lowered to $17,900.

nevermindthedog February 15, 2010 at 2:49 AM

24k for that? not worth it especially when you gotta put work into it after you buy it, and it’s a 74

microminiskirt February 15, 2010 at 3:49 AM

You don’t need heaters in those big blocks. The heat from the motor will fry you in the interior. The clock never works.

SuperMuise February 15, 2010 at 4:35 AM

if you had a M-22 rockcrusher you could get alot for that car. As for the imperfections, 24k is about right given the economy and its shit right now

BREAU44 February 15, 2010 at 5:25 AM

jump on er… dont be a pussy and drive that bigblock like you stole it

FANADICALCOWHEAD February 15, 2010 at 6:20 AM

One thing I know about chevy’s is that when the alternator needs changing you will get flickering lights , I don’t think its a loose circuit.
