what was SO WRONG about that commercial?

linoleumshake February 1, 2010 at 10:52 AM

what ten year old kid hasn’t had dreams about driving a vette? what’s wrong with this to be banned?

Asa7 February 1, 2010 at 11:42 AM

what 10 year old can drive stick? thats my security for my car, none of my friends can drive stick so i know theyre not going anywhere if they get a hold of my keys.

instead of banning the commercial, they should have put at the bottom of the screen “Keep out of reach of children”
this commercial deserved to be aired more than it had

I loved this commercial when it came out. It’s easily the best car commercial ever. Killer song selection and it gets right to what a Corvette is about. A few weeks back, my sister let me drive her ’05 C6 Red Corvette. I felt just like the kid in the ad. Now I want one.

I apologize 4 misunderstanding. I merely suggesting to the ppl who would have a problem with the kids driving and 4 those who has nothing to do with their lives but to sue other ppl and not directly to u. What you posted I agree with. I drive a Vette and I do own a VW. I wish we can slow down on name callings, though.

6irondriver February 1, 2010 at 12:16 PM

I think u mis-guided my comment. I’m in favor of the commercial- get ur panties out of ur azz. You must drive a VW or SUV. Whatever the case, chill.

oogiemaster February 1, 2010 at 12:24 PM

We all know it’s not real! The kids weren’t really driving the car, so what? It is a damn good commercial. If it was banned because a reason such as 6irondriver described, then we should banned all the action movies specially those with killings . Have you heard of “PARENTAL GUIDANCE”? Good on you 01po01po!!

totally true

FRANKIESHANOWSKIY2K0 February 1, 2010 at 1:30 PM

yes theres a problem wit that statement
the age of the boy and girl featured in that adert must be around 10 to 12 years old
and in the us kids at that age are takend up drivers education but in the uk it is from
16 to 19 for kides to take driving lessons.
plus half of the advert was filmed at a studio innfront of agreen screen and for wide shoots trained stunt drivers as kids doubles.

they probably banned this ad because it promotes underage driving

01po01po February 1, 2010 at 2:19 PM

great commercial. another example of political correctness..bullshit. they should be able to show that. It should be the parents fault for leaving their keys were the kids could get in and drive the car. not because of the commercial!!!! its a shame they had to ban that becuase they might get sued….common people what the hell…..

6irondriver February 1, 2010 at 2:20 PM

Good call Colliin. GM figured they’d be sued if some kid saw it and crashed Daddy’s Vette I’m sure. Great ‘Vette footage tho, they should air that without the kids. Have some ugly dude driving it and a model winks at him, that’d be about right. I can say that ’cause I drive a red ‘vette, lol.

C0LL1N February 1, 2010 at 2:36 PM

who in gods name decided to ban this?! theres nothing wrong with that commercial at all, especially while we now have a commercial showing a pregnancy test being pissed on in slow motion, and everyone talking about their diseases and genital herpes.

Best damn commercial ever made. End of story.

coonalishus February 1, 2010 at 3:50 PM

awsome ad

FowlPrey12 February 1, 2010 at 4:46 PM

Oh, I know. I thought it was interesting.

88FanNASCAR February 1, 2010 at 4:49 PM

No, I meant about that kid at the commercial shoot. The commercial and the Corvette are awesome.

booker357mag February 1, 2010 at 5:09 PM

If your child would steal your keys.. and start up a vette and attempt to take it for a drive.. then they should get the belt. Problem solved.. now air the ad!

Plur307 February 1, 2010 at 5:15 PM

The best I have ever seen with my 1.6 L honda civic is 36 mpg. I think it is awesome that an engine with several times the power and displacement can nearly equal that mileage. I’d have a vette if I could afford one :)

ArchamRH February 1, 2010 at 5:36 PM

Where is the waste? I get up to 30 mpg on a trip and 22 – 24 mpg around town! That’s AWESOME with just over 400HP on tap anytime I want or need it! :) Great Car! One Vette Mag did a test on fuel mileage, topping off from Gas Can, just getting on Freeway, they averaged 33.6 MPG! They did have it up to 36.6 until they hit a storm with severe head winds, that dropped it to 33.6 mpg! Awesome in every way you look at it! Case in point, NO GAS GUZZLER TAX! :) ZO6, 505HP, NO Guzzler TAX either 20 mpg!

ArchamRH February 1, 2010 at 6:01 PM

I just LUV this Ad, why BAN it? I see NO reason to Ban this TV during S/B! :( It’s been my Dream to own one of these since I WAS that age!Kids and grown-ups alike have a Luv Affair with Vette’s since I can remember! The C6 is the Best Bang for the Buck of ALL super cars, @ less the $100,000! You can by 2 of these for what a Ferrari, Aston M., Lambo or other exotic off the assembly line! Had mine up to 150mph in 5th gear, with Redline of 6500RPM, I was only @ 4900rpm, with 6th gear to go! :)

Homerdoh31 February 1, 2010 at 6:13 PM

AHAHAA AMAZING AD!

FowlPrey12 February 1, 2010 at 6:56 PM
