2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Full Test: www.insideline.com Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Track Video: www.youtube.com The problem with the 2010 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport is, it's not really a limited-edition car (no special VIN is assigned), it doesn't perform any better or worse than a base-model Corvette, and finally, the price of the Grand Sport comes within striking distance of the car it emulates — the brutal Corvette Z06.

70k thats expensive ill take an m3 coupe, much better quality and looks and i still get 420hp.I would prefer a zo6 though. Not dissing the vette its the best american car,you guys should consider putting it on your flag.

AJballer November 27, 2009 at 3:36 PM

Kia/Hyundai has money out the ass and plan on hiring 100,000 more workers. Their cars are not reliable, safe, or of good quality. What you’re saying is not justifiable. True GM cars are not the best at these things, but they’re damn sure not the worst. The corvette is the only car that matters as far as GM goes, not enough money or R&D goes into anything else. Like always it’ll be up to the vette and silverado to drag GM out of this. I don’t drive GM but they make ok cars.

Why didn’t he use the Launch control? All of the 2010 Manual Corvettes have it. I have seen it tested and it works awesome and the 0-60 times for the GS are around 3.9. Oh well.

mahidude November 27, 2009 at 5:18 PM

Corvettes are great. They have loads of power, great handling, and they look good. And ya know what? I don’t give a shit if the interior is so-so. Its still fun as hell and is easier on the wallet than just about any comparable car. Even including fuel economy!
If you have the money, buy your expensive imports. That doesn’t change the fact that the Corvette is a great car, and the ZR1 has blown the lid off of the European Dominated Super Car world, even Jeremy Clarkson admits this.

N/J — Not trying to be smart — but you’re sure making me look that way. First of all, I don’t need to defend the concept that statistical information is more valid than personal observation — that is pretty well proven at this point — about a year after they proved the world wasn’t flat.

And I only included the market share point because of your “last time I checked” comment.

Again, all I’d like is for you to have a clue when you are ripping the Vette & GM.

NigguhJason November 27, 2009 at 5:36 PM

“weebp08″ The way you are pretending to be smart is funny. If you are so smart you should know statistically made numbers are bias, and not accurate. That 34% is not accurate and if you leave in Cali, you would see most cars in Cali are not domestic cars. First hand > Numbers. Oh by the way they went up after the bailout? Well obviously? They got funded.

weebp08 November 27, 2009 at 5:48 PM

N/J — You really need to read something sometime. L.A. Times reported in July 2008 that 34% of all cars sold in CA are domestics. This is lower than national average due primarily to the fact that fewer pickups are purchased in California than most of the midwest. My guess is that it is NOT due to Californians possessing some unique and mysterious insight into automotive quality that has somehow eluded the rest of the country. And GM market share is up for the last four straight months.

Fudmottin November 27, 2009 at 6:34 PM

So for just ten times the cost, that car will stay in my rearview mirror for a full quarter mile. Fantastic!

I probably wouldn’t mind having one though.

NigguhJason November 27, 2009 at 7:08 PM

“local282forlife” You’re calling me dumb when you have grammar mistakes?

Last I checked their sales went down by a lot compared to other companies during the recession. What does that tell us about GM? Oh yeah, it tells us that they suck.

The people that support GM are probably from retarded middle west/east states, or middle north/south states, but in California. American cars are POS cars. No one really buys em. We see old ones, but not new ones. Mostly JDM and Euro.

Flabernat November 27, 2009 at 7:38 PM

If you find something wrong with the Corvette, you’re an idiot, I hate Edmunds sometimes…. and the LS3 gets 28-31mpg on the highway, just ask anyone who owns one.

mr2ya November 27, 2009 at 7:53 PM

$70k ROFL! seriously, GM is kidding right?, HAHAHAHA!
And yes, GM lost money because of greed, over drawn payroll, and crappy cars, their trucks and Corvettes are the ONLY things that kept them affloat, and NO the Economic down turn of the past 2-3 years didn’t do it all, GM reported LOSING money for 30 years in a row.

local282forlife November 27, 2009 at 8:37 PM

Your not too intelligent. The reason why GM claimed bankruptcy is because of corporate greed and saveing the imports asses. It has nothing to due with product quality. Come up with something else to bitch about. The bankruptcy bullshit is getting old. Learn how to spell, asshole. “FINANCES” is spelt with 2 “n’s not 1.

local282forlife November 27, 2009 at 9:06 PM

Road and rack did a full battery of tests on the GS and pulled better numbers than Insideline. 0-60 in 3.9 seconds, slalom speed of 70 mph, skidpad of 1.0g, braking from 60-0 in 105ft.

local282forlife November 27, 2009 at 9:08 PM

Its not supposed to be a ZO6. Its a bridge between the 2.

FuckYou11288 November 27, 2009 at 9:51 PM

just a c6 in drag still badass but its no z06

IROCwarriorAMC88 November 27, 2009 at 10:19 PM

Bad ass Corvette!

TCPUDPATM November 27, 2009 at 10:48 PM

LOL best corvette except for the ZR1? Umm yea I’ll take the Z06 thanks.

highfencejumper November 27, 2009 at 11:22 PM

Finally gm is doing something for the corvette fans. It seems like every corvette coming out gets a little better! 0-60 was off, actually 4.0. And $20k cheaper than the z06. Sexy!

weebp08 November 28, 2009 at 12:14 AM

Think about how great the M3 could be if it tossed the back seat, added more displacement, tossed some of that cabin weight devoted to unnecessary electronics, and dropped the price $20K. Sounds like — a Vette.

weebp08 November 28, 2009 at 1:01 AM

N/J –

Let’s not bore everyone here with your views on the global auto industry. I will concede to you that the M3 is a great sports car. As a factual matter, it does not accelerate, brake, or handle as well as a Z51 or G/S Vette. You can accuse everyone on this board of bias, but the facts are what they are.

I make the soccer mom goof routinely because most M3 buyers “need a back seat” or “need a trunk” and the like. Sports cars are not about practicality — they’re about speed.

NigguhJason November 28, 2009 at 1:40 AM

“mak450″ Actually I’m in UCSD, and the fact that you yet to prove me wrong its funny. Keep trolling me on other issues when you know you’re wrong already.

Aren’t we talking about cars? Now we talk about what kind of education I’m in? And throwing random insults? Please stay on point. No point in talking to little bias retards that can’t even accept that Chevy Corvette sucks. The only Corvette I respect is the Zr1. You call me ignorant when I clearly like the ZR1, which makes me not bias.

mak450 November 28, 2009 at 1:51 AM

If you’re too ignorant and stupid to actually understand that profit hinges on more than just sales then no amount of proving you wrong – like everyone else here has done repeatedly – is going to get through to you.

Obviously you’ve never taken a Business class, and if you did you missed the point entirely.

Hell you probably aren’t even out of high school yet as all you’ve been able to do so far is use 7th grade reasoning to “prove” your point. You’re one sad little man, that is all…

NigguhJason November 28, 2009 at 2:11 AM

Continue… GM has no money meaning no one buys there cars meaning none of there cars are good, which also states that their car are not reliable, safe, good quality, and etc… Make sense?

If they made money that means they have good cars, but they don’t.

That’s why I’m using fiances. I explained this hella times already.

GM needed bailout because they were not selling cars, because their cars suck. AKA not reliable, safe, good quality, and etc… Dumb fuck.

NigguhJason November 28, 2009 at 3:10 AM

“weebp08″ I clearly made it clear that we are talking about the E92 M3. E92 = Coupe, and not the E90 M3, which is the sedan. You’re trying to be smart that I don’t know there’s a sedan? When I said E92 NOT E90. I made it clear it was the coupe. You’re just stupid.

Also how is the E92 a soccer mom car? How is a coupe a soccer mom car? Mhmm Explain dumb fuck. If E92 can be one, the Corvette can be one then.
