we’re talking about 4-valve versus 2-valve.
Sorry, but power curves are entirely dependent on valve size, intake runner length and camshaft profile. The engine doesn’t care where the camshafts are physically located. Also, its typically OHV engines that have broader wider torque curves, with tons of low end. Since they can’t physically rev as high without using some crazy spring pressures, they are tuned to get as much as possible down low.
Or you could be smart and buy the fastest car in the world around a track.
Both these cars have enough power and handling (I prefer the corvette, I own one) but the drivers definitely need more time behind the wheel and a disciplined foot on the throttle. They are not driving these cars to there potential. Anyone off the street can do this.
I BUILD engines.
I know exactly what Im talking about. Point out to me what I said that was incorrect.
Consider it my challenge to you.
u dont really know what you’re talking about pal.
DOHC is superior.
Its more efficient and gives a broader power/torque curve (more area under curve)
Like The Other guy said neither is better but i would rather work on ohv than a dohc trust me their a pain in the ass
OHV engines generally produce better torqe and low-end response because of better intake fuel/air stratification and increased air turbulance from good intake velocity thats lacking in most 4″ and 3″-valve OHC engines. They also tend to be phisically smaller because of the minimized componentry in the heads.
The draw-back of this however is the inreased spring pressures and bulkier valves need to move the same amount of air as an equivilant OHV engine.
Verdict… neither is better.
yea it is expensive and dodge isnt the most reliable but loads of low end torque and potential. can someone tell me the benifits of OHV valvetrain? it would seem to me dohc is superior.
hold up check the 2007 blue thunder corvette and the 2009 zr2….chevy has taken its stadn once again
Dodge Viper: Biggest waste of 100 grand. btw its a DODGE?? Hello? 100g for a dodge? wtf.
The viper kinda has a 35 grand advantage too.
guys,don’t argue,they’re both good
lol viper isn’t a good drifter? look up Sam Hubinette, besides, why should it be good? It’s american. and since when did people judge cars by how good they can drift?
I WANT HIS JOB !!!
I think that viper was too much for that driver. But I don’t think I could do much better.
viper all day
voll die scheiß opfer man -.-* die können die viper ja nicht mal fahren -.- driften ist ne kunst & keine kinderkagge
Where did you hear this? The last 500 vipers Dodge is making with the last 50 vipers the owners get to pick their own custom color. 2012 Fiat is making a ‘new viper’ and I swear if they use the viper name I’m disowning mopar forever.
Its not really the tires, its that the viper engine has a few more cylinders and more weight in the front, making it a bit harder to control in a drift, but the corvette is definitely a better car, both overall and for the price.
Cars like that need to be DRIVEN to their full capacity. Watching this video, I get the feeling the driver can’t handle all that power, he keeps drifting and wiping out. They are both powerful machines and were designed to do a lot more than that.
best job ever, so jealous.
corvette totally beat the viper at drifting the viper needs better tires
yah the viper is a monster a welcome monster though im a gm guy but respect the vipe
