saying the ZR1 smokes the v spec is a little bit unfounded as they haven’t been tested against each other. It comes down to trackability in these types of tests and since the vspec can pull a 1.3g (yes… 1.3g) while it may not be able to match the ZR1 on top end speed it will certainly continue to dominate from a performance perspective. Include improved braking and this would be a much closer contest.

ah and btw imagine ZR1 with 1200 horses? on the start on 1st gear there will be no race because it will simply…..vanish infront of the GTR’s Driver :>

still nice try

xabipp November 3, 2009 at 2:29 AM

it powned standart GTR on track :>

ZR1 was gaining 3 sec per lap @ Las Vagas….

infact GTR LOST in every test :> face it Ricer fanboys ;>

now seriously.. the ZR1 honestly would not smoke any GT-R round a tight track. I sensed a lot of bias in that vid.

slipknotSOADman November 5, 2009 at 4:41 AM

and it would rape a zr1 on a track

gemballamiragegt11 November 6, 2009 at 4:15 AM

With the money you would save buying a GTR instead of a ZR1 you could put a Stage five turbo kit on the GTR putting out like 1200 horses

leonardo302 November 7, 2009 at 5:55 AM

If I was given a GTR i would sell it and buy a corvette!

Jaggabee2 November 9, 2009 at 7:35 PM

This is a stupid comparison. Plus for the GT-R to be more then 100 horses less then the vette and still be able to hang with the vette, it just goes to show that VETTE’s SUCK!!!!! They put a sloppy ass engine with a super charger and call that engineering. When you look a the technical marvel of the GT-R, its no surprise why the American Car market is suffering.

GVE76 November 11, 2009 at 5:56 AM

still, i like the GTR most…

Too bad Corvettes don’t get sold over here that easily – Chevy doesn’t market them here (the cars they sell here are the Optra, the Aveo, and the Spark), so they get an additional Car Importation Tax, which can be anywhere between 100% to 200% of the Car’s price.

The GT-R on the other hand, if you know the right people, they can sneak in a GT-R and get one cheap, and since it’ll come from Japan, which is relatively close proximity, shipping is no problem.(it won’t be the V-spec tho)

antipeacemilitias November 16, 2009 at 4:45 PM

yeah sailor you rather pay over 190k-220k for a Vspec gtr rather than 104k for the ultimate corvette lol

ok go buy your overpriced nissan we will take our corvettes thank you very much and blow the doors of your vacuum cleaner over and over stock to stock mod to mod hehehe

sailorenlil November 17, 2009 at 6:21 AM

At two or three times the price

turboprickle November 17, 2009 at 10:16 AM

This is a silly comparison!

youlance29 November 17, 2009 at 4:41 PM

Tell me what country are you from? There are 2009 ZR1′s in the autotrader for under 100K and dealers asking 104K.

If you’re from the US, you need psychiatric help!!!

Gwynne66 November 19, 2009 at 6:52 PM

You’re wrong about the GTR price. Sticker price is $80,790 for a 2010 GTR and a couple of dealers in my area still have some 2009 cars on the lot so you’re not going to pay sticker price for the 2010s.

The ZR1, on the other hand, since very few dealers stock them, you’ll pay at least sticker price for them. I’ve seen dealers asking as much as $200,000 for them.

Anyone who would pay even $100,000 for a Corvette needs psychiatric help but $200,000?!

alakazam2929 November 22, 2009 at 5:40 AM

hahahahahahahaha, love the ending, makes me want a ‘vette just that much more

youlance29 November 25, 2009 at 2:12 PM

Depends where you live. in the US, the GTR is $89K and the ZR1 is 106K. not much difference in price but a whole lotta difference in performance.

Exactly where do you live where the ZR1 is triple the GTR? I don’t think that’s even possible unless you’re from japan.

H4rryy November 25, 2009 at 8:54 PM

Yeh but GTR is only £40k and the zR1 is tripple that and there wasnt too much differencve in the laptimes so common sense tells you that over all the GTR is value for money

youlance29 November 28, 2009 at 10:48 PM

ZR1 uses alien suspension that’s why it beats everyone at the track.

sculnon November 30, 2009 at 3:22 AM

you’re an idiot to comment on a car that you have never seen. i have one and they are fully aluminum frames and all magnesium cradles. nascar oiling (638 HP). built for the road course you iidot!! but i guess you are right they will dust the nissan straight line as well.

dartasweideris December 1, 2009 at 11:19 AM

But zr1 uses not american suspension. Only american engine :)

youlance29 December 2, 2009 at 8:26 PM

ZR1 SMOKES GTR!!!

Love the ending!

nrcharlie December 4, 2009 at 8:44 PM

definitely there are always cars better than the other, no car is invincible.

nrcharlie December 5, 2009 at 1:25 AM

generally i’ll have to say that some test are quite irrelevant, ZR1 is built for straight speeds and maybe corners as i have never driven or seen 1 before, but the GTR is mainly built for acceleration and cornering only, not drag. but i reckon, if the GTR had more power, it will have “smoke” the ZR1.

vtec82 December 6, 2009 at 12:05 PM

both cars are cool.
